I have extensive experience arranging music for all sizes of groups (from solo instrument to full orchestra), instrumentations, and ability levels. I’ve included example PDFs here of different sorts of those arrangements, but have a large library of other completed work that I’d be happy to discuss selling to you, and would also be thrilled to receive commissions for new arranging. I use Sibelius software for arranging and sequencing; if you need a handwritten piece digitized, I do fast and clean work.

If you are a musician or band and want violin or strings on your song or album, I have arranged and recorded for Nathaniel Rateliff, Patrick Meese, M. Sage, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, and others - let’s talk about how to add strings to your project. If you have an upcoming wedding, youth or professional orchestra concert, or chamber recital, please get in touch for details on how I can help you to play (or hear) exactly the music you want.

CHAMBER MUSIC

I’ve arranged a large amount of music for recitals myself and others have given over the years, many for violin and piano, but also for numerous other small chamber groups.

Federico Mompou - “La Cegueta” from Suburbis for violin and piano, originally for solo piano

Francis Poulenc - “L’alerte vieillesse” from Les Soirees de Nazelle for violin and piano, originally for solo piano

Maurice Ravel - Violin Sonata, movement 1 orchestrated for solo violin and chamber ensemble, originally for violin and piano

STRING ENSEMBLE / FULL ORCHESTRA

I enjoy orchestrating pieces for piano into a full orchestra setting, and have also completed many classical and pop arrangements for the Denver-based Sphere Ensemble, a 13-person string orchestra.

Chuck Berry - “Roll Over Beethoven” for string orchestra (Sphere)

“I Saw Three Ships” for string orchestra (Sphere)

Dmitri Shostakovich - Prelude No. 11 for full orchestra, originally for solo piano

EDUCATIONAL

I conducted a youth orchestra in Summit County, Colorado for five years, and completed multiple arrangements per concert for each specific instrumentation we had at the time. I’ve also arranged for the Torrey Chamber Music Festival educational string camp for the past few summers. In each case I’ve taken the ability level of individual students into account and adjusted their parts accordingly.

W.A. Mozart - “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” for educational string orchestra

David Bowie - “Space Oddity” for full youth orchestra

Antonin Dvorák - Symphony No. 9, movement 4 for full youth orchestra
